Good ol’ Boris has done something which I think should have been done years ago: he has banned consumption of alcohol on London’s public transport network. There is nothing worse, particularly when you have to get the train in the evening as much as I do, than having drunks getting even further drunk whilst being stuck in the cramped hellholes that are TransPennine Express train carriages. I know its meaningless and PR hoopla, but sometimes its worth the transparent self promotion to actually get things done that people care about. So good on ya guvnor. Where on earth did that come from?

Mind you, I think its a good job Boris triumphed last week as I’m sure he’d have been jolly peeved to learn just how fabulous Brian Blessed was as last Friday’s HIGNFY guest presenter. I’ve read on many occasions this week how much people loved his performance with more than a few suggesting he’d make a great permanent host. Boris must be quaking in his little booties!
